Cheri Burger is a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed) with years of experience training dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments.
In 2003, Cheri and her husband adopted Bagley, a handsome black Labrador Mix from the Elmbrook Humane Society. Bagley started a passion in Cheri that she never expected! She started to eat, sleep and breathe all things dog - especially how and why they behave the way they do and how they learn and communicate with humans and other dogs.
A few years later they added Kobe, a Husky/Chow mix, to their family and the rest was history. Cheri began teaching group classes for a local dog training company in 2009 and soon found that her life was destined to be spent teaching others how to create a special bond that she had found with her own two pups.
When she started the Dog Lady in 2014, she didn't even blink twice when it came to her branding. The dog in the logo? That is Bagley. He has taught Cheri all about dogs - how they think, how they learn, how they love, how they don’t give up.
Sadly, Bagley passed on in December of 2015 at almost 14 years old. He made a profound impact on all who knew him. His calm, cool demeanor and joy of learning will never be forgotten.

Kobe passed in April 2021 of liver cancer. He was a great Therapy dog and a fantastic partner when working with dog aggressive dogs.

Both changed Cheri's life forever.
